ok......this is how crazy my morning was.
i woke up at 6am. well; that's when my alarm went off. Of course i hit snooze once.....ok twice. so now it's almost 6:30am. i woke my youngest daughter Emily up for school. Her older sister, Paige, was up at 5:30am. She's one of those morning people. Emi and i are NOT! anyway, dragging our heals to get going we finally leave the house at 7:30. the walkway to the garage is all ice so i almost fall 3 times. (the reason for that to be signifigant is that i broke my foot last March by falling on the ice. i didnt just break it a little either.............i broke every bone across the arch of my foot) anyway, moving on. We get on our way. as i'm driving i realize there aren't that many cars on the road. i chalk it up to we had that freezing rain last night and maybe not as much over flow morning traffic. i get to the high school to drop Paige off and she gets out. i drive away and look in the parking lot to see only 4 cars parked in the lot and at the same time my cell phone rings and it's Paige...........she's like, "do we have school today?? the halls are all dark and nobody is here!" I immediately circled around and picked her up. I called the office to find out what was going on. there wasn't anything on the radio this morning that would indicate any cancellation of school. the office lady picked up the phone and i explained that i was just at school and was wondering what was going on. Apparently i wasn't the only one to have called, she laughed and said there was a 2 hour school delay this morning. she went on to add that the only place i would have found that information was on channel 4 news.............way at the bottom of there screen or on there web site online. i thanked her and we continued home. Realizing that we all could have slept in for "2 hours", i decided to treat the girls to a cinnimon bun at McDonald's. i didn't even concider that school could possibly be cancelled or delayed so why would i have checked online at the web sight. and as for the channel 4 news.....it's very rare for me to turn on the television in the morning at all. the result of that is that we went to school and came home again..lol today is my day off. a chance to get appts done and of course homework!! i called JoMaJi, the salon i work at, and moved my color appointment to 10:00am (since i now have to take the kids to school again at 9:30....and now have to pick up two of her friends for a ride) the gym will have to wait until after my hair appt is done. then i'll probably stop in at my mom's for a bit. i also have a few errands to run while in Sheboygan so i'll do that too and before i know it I'll be picking the kids back up from school. this is how crazy my life can be. what are the kids doing with there extra hours before school? (because you are reading what i'm doing ) Paige is in her room on her computer and on her cell phone texting.........Emi is working out on the Wii Fit. she's running with hand weights. i think she'd do that all day long if she could. i cant' believe that it is almost 9am already............almost time to take the kids to school. Thanks for listening to my ramblings about my crazy life! c-u in class............:)

Are you a hugger??

This morning, on the way to taking my daughter to the orthodontist, i was listening to the radio.
After the weather report, there was a segment on hugging. Is hugging appropriate in the work place?

The report started by saying that women don't have as much of an issue with hugging as men do.
Is this true? Do men have intimacy issues with hugging? hugging someone of their own gender?
Are women more comfortable with hugging than men?

I know that I'm a hugger......i hug people as a greeting, to cheer them up or just because. Why do you
hug? Who do you hug?

The radio personnel who was giving the report was a woman. She went on to talk about the three different
types of hugs. They're saying that hugging is replacing the hand shake.
  • the first kind of hug is the "HIP HOP HUG"-use your right hand to give a hand shake and hug with your left arm, giving two pats on the back
  • the second kind of hug is the "TILT HUG"-you lean in and only hug with your upper half of your body
  • the third kind of hug is the "FULL FRONTAL HUG"- this is your all out, go for it hug!

She asked the two men in her office to demonstrate each of the hugs. They resisted saying, "What's wrong with the "fist pump" as a hug?" You could hear it in their voices that they were NOT COMFORTABLE!!!

T.V. shows like The Sopranos and Entourage have made hugging acceptable as a greeting. Will men agree? I think women find it very acceptable. So ask yourself............are you a hugger?

okay, so i set up two blog and didn't even know it.......never done this before. i did realize that i posted on the wrong blog and nobody would have been able to read anything. problem solved so here is what i wrote Wed. Feb., 11Th:

I was flipping through the TV channels last night and came across NBC's Dateline. Anne Curry was interviewing Nadya Suleman. She is the 34 year old mother of the octuplets. the interview caught my eye and i found myself glued to the interview.
I found myself actually consciencely listening to the questions that Anne Curry was asking. Was she asking open ended questions? How did she get this mother who has been bashed by the media to trust her to get the truth? Hopefully that will help when i have to interview the person for the paper we are to write for class.
But more that that i realized that when the story first broke about Nadya having 6 children already and giving birth to 8 more, i prejudged her along with a lot of other people. Listening to the interview and learning more of the facts about her life i began to feel for her.
She was in an unsuccessful marriage, she got injured at her job and bacame disabled which let to a bout of depression, her lack of affection by her mother left this unfullfilled void in her that she is now filling with 14 children. Do i agree with her having all those babies? Absolutely not. she's crazy. But this is her life now.
i do believe she loves her children and didn't plan on having "8" more, but now that she does i dont think she understands what it takes to raise a child from infant to adulthood. And she has 14 children to raise.
i cant even comprehend how her life is going to be...............i work, go to school, and am raising 2 children and sometimes feel there isnt enough hours in a day. She isnt going to get any sleep!!
